The Creature Collection evolved in such a delightful, curious and creative exploration of the sculptural form, with lots of emphasis on character and narrative within each piece.
Crafted over a long period of 2 weeks during Margaret River Open Studios, ‘Fleetwood’ was lovingly crafted and admired by visitors for the duration! Having that extra time to hone details was a fantastic experience, and I think he has been good in setting a new bar for my sculptural work.
The central theme of this piece is around shared conversation, storytelling & listening. The joy of having a friend who leans forward to absorb the details as you speak.
Hand Crafted
Hand built with a warm textured clay, then fired to high temperatures for durability, and to give the colours a beautiful antiquated effect.
Unique Design
The sculpture is shaped by hand, then painted with underglazes I blend here in the studio. I decorate with intricately carved line work in the Sgraffito method.
Measures 28cm High.
